This is me, four or so weeks into quarantine. Half of me is illuminated by light and the other half remains in darkness. But, a streak of light seeps into the other side of my face and illuminates it. When my grandparents tested positive for Covid-19 two weeks ago, I felt myself sinking into darkness. No matter what I did, I couldn’t shake off the thought of losing them. Within a couple of weeks, they told me they were slowly recovering, and that was enough to make me happy. I was reminded that light always prevails, and I wanted to capture that in my self portrait.
